Pattys Pizza

The year was 1988, and spectacular events were shaping the end of the twentieth century. George (without the W) would become the 41st President after a long, determined life in politics; the weaker Dodgers would overcome the powerful Athletics to surprise a nation by taking home their seventh World Series title; a small Asian country would host the largest Olympic event in the history of sporting; and a young lady named Benazir Bhutto would shock the world by being named the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the first women to lead a Muslim Nation. It was a year of challenges met by people with grandeur vision of their place in the world.
The year was 1988, and a commercial real estate agent traveling the country enjoyed her aspirations of her future as a professional polo player. Patty Phillips had discovered on one of her trips a unique concept called "Take And Bake". Using her savings, once committed to the goal of purchasing the polo ponies, she decided to open up a restaurant. Patty's Gourmet Take And Bake Pizzas.

The roaring economy of the eighties slowed and families found themselves working eclectic, long hours with less disposable income. It was important to make each meal at home count. To make the time spent together important. Providing a better pizza, with fresh ingredients, combined in a creative recipe (a step beyond traditional pies) intrigued Patty. It was beyond the cold, soggy pizzas that flood the mailbox circulars daily. It truly was "gourmet ".

Patty opened the first restaurant in Beverly Hills. Every day she struggled to accomplish her dream. Every pizza she created had a piece of her vision; her drive; her commitment for perfection. Patty now aspired to be a great builder of careers and opportunities for the community. Her enthusiasm was infectious; it brought her loyal customers that still commit only to Patty's Pizza to this day. Each pizza brought her closer to her grandeur vision of her place in the world.

Today, Patty Phillips has two high profile restaurants and an international wholesale commissary fashioning recipes that will expand the concept across the country one pizza at a time.

It is funny talking to Patty. Friends once remarked when she told them she was going to open a restaurant concept of Take And Bake Pizzas, ".but Patty, you don't cook". Her reply, ".yes, but they're unbaked".
